ABOUT US
Three Wishes Farm is a boutique breeding business based out of Santa Rosa Valley, CA, and Somis, CA. We produce athletic, sound, young horses who grow up with the proper care and handling so that they can develop into athletes suitable for sport at the highest levels. We accept only the very best mares into our breeding program and have a strong emphasis on sport both from the mare and the mare family.
As one of the very few breeders specializing in hunter breeding, Anneliese uses her decades of experience competing in the hunter rings at indoors, Thermal, and WEF to produce hunter foals for the 3'6" and derby divisions.
THE TEAM
Alexander Scherrer
Alex, who grew up on his uncle's horse farm in Germany, has been Anneliese's rock for the past four years and they have now made it official. Genius fixer of everything from tractors to electric fences, he manages both properties and is also the foaling expert. He rides the trails on his buckskin quarter horse mare, Laney. During the week he works as a development engineer at BMW.
Anneliese Kannow Scherrer
Anneliese grew up on the A circuit starting first with the pony hunters and ending her junior career catch riding to multiple championships in the junior hunters, top five placings in regionals for Maclay, USEF, USET, and other west coast finals, and wins in the high junior jumpers. As an amateur rider, Anneliese won the USET Talent Search Medal Finals West and the USEF Adult Finals at the National Horse Show. She has earned multiple top ten placings in USHJA International and National Hunter Derbies, including Pin Oak and Spring Fling, and most recently finished top ten in the nation in the WCHR Amateur Owner Hunter 3’3 division.
Anneliese divides her time between running Three Wishes Farm and providing private tutoring and academic counseling to young equestrians across the nation.
Carlos Espinoza
Carlos has been working with the Three Wishes breeding program since its first foal. His meticulous care and excellent horsemanship are an asset to every foal and young horse in his care. In addition to the daily care of the farm and horses, Carlos also ponies the young horses throughout the Santa Rosa Valley giving them the confidence and exposure they thrive on to develop into stars in the show ring.
